5 Ways To Get Money To Go On Your Next Vacation

If you’re on a fixed budget, it can be extremely difficult to figure out how to go on vacation. At the end of every month, or at the end of every pay period, you zero out. There’s no savings – no extra for your to put away toward any kind of a tropical break in the action. But there are ways to make it happen, with a little bit of foresight and creativity.

Five ways that you can do this include taking out a loan from a private institution, saving bit by bit from your daily expenditures, crowd funding your trip, asking family as nicely as possible for some resources, or using your credit cards to help make your trip a reality. Each has pros and cons.

Take Out a Loan

If all else fails and you really need to get out of Dodge, you can always take out a loan for a small amount of cash. Legally, you know you’ll pay it back eventually, so really it’s just a matter of risk and reward. Even a few thousand dollars can get you an enjoyable vacation, complete with food and lodging, so consider it an investment in your future.

Save Bit By Bit

There are apps that help you save money. They can automatically do things like send a certain amount of money every day to a savings account, or they can round up purchases and send that cash to somewhere you can’t reach as well. Some apps even send small amounts of money every day into investment accounts! There are lots of different share trading platforms available to help you invest too. It all depends on how well you set yourself up, but the opportunity to save is always going to be there.

Crowd Fund Your Trip

There are people who love or hate this idea, but you can crowd fund your vacation if you have a compelling enough story. There has been a fair amount of backlash against this because people have noted that you can take advantage of a system to be able to take a vacation that you didn’t necessarily earn, and that rubs a certain personality type the wrong way. But if you’re willing to put yourself out there, then power to you!

Ask Your Family Nicely

If your family sees that you’re working hard, you can ask them for the cash so that you can take a break. It can be your parents or grandparents, or even your kids if they’re older and have the money to gift to you. The point is that everyone deserves a vacation occasionally, and your family could be your personal conduit this time through.

Use Your Credit Cards
And if you have any access to money through your credit cards, you can potentially charge your vacation to it and worry about paying it back later, or over an extended period of time. Lots of people do this – there’s no shame in moving some money around a bit if you know that you want some time off to enjoy yourself.
